• One of the greatest literature from Visayas is the poem "America",that was written by Simeon Dumdum,Jr.
• Migration here in the Philippines is not a rare thing already in the country. It shows that many Filipinos sent to other country for them to be able to gain a higher salary than what they'll get here in the Philippines.
• The poem America shows that the eagerness of the Filipino citizens to work for the other country become higher,because of what they saw to other OFW's who were became successful in their life.

➧SETTING       
 -There are two different places were mentioned in the poem,the Leyte (Philippines) and the America.

-Virginia was born and raised in Leyte,but later on she works in the America wherein all the things there are much bigger than here in the Philippines.

➧ CHARACTER

•Virginia

-For this lady,it's better to call her "Virginia" instead of "Virhinia".

-Virginia is one of those people who encouraged to work on abroad because of the bigger opportunity they'll get there.

-That's why the narrator also wanted to go in America for him to experience what Virginia experienced there.

➧CONTEXT

-The whole poem talks about the mindset of the Filipino people towards to the other country,it is as if ,they are influence by others who are already worked there and how those Filipinos got a higher salary than here in the country,and because of the material things that they see their desperation of working there become higher and higher every miliseconds.
